The "Peace and Quiet" Hinge by Custom Products of Litchfield, Inc.

The "Peace and Quiet" Hinge by Custom Products of Litchfield, Inc. will be demonstrated at the GIE and Expo turf tradeshows in October and November this year. Using a side-by-side noise comparison, visitors to the Custom Products booth can actually hear the difference in noise level that operators experience. Since the hinges on folding ROPS are at ear level on each side of the operator, the "Peace and Quiet" Hinge really makes a difference.

This patent pending design uses a precision stamped hinge bracket for close tolerances coupled with noise dampening devices to eliminate the chatter experienced with other designs. The clean styling and all black hardware makes for clean styling and better appearance on quality machines.

"This is actually very simple engineering," says Randy Reinke, Vice President of Custom Products of Litchfield, Inc. "We looked at where the folding hinges were on standard ROPS, and they were right at ear level on each side of the operator's head. If that operator is on that machine for 8-12 hours per day, eliminating any extra noise can really improve the work environment."

The design also eliminates the need for tightening knobs, which can vibrate loose, cause additional noise, and even fall off the equipment. The "Peace and Quiet" Hinge is easier to operate, which encourages operators to raise the ROPS, thereby increasing safety.
